When Cat’s Away, the Mice will Play (Poem)

His call shook me out of slumber,

Boss summoned me to his room,

With foggy mind I trundled,

Dreadful of what lay in store,

“Good afternoon, Sir”,

“I’m proceeding on leave. Take care”.

I let out the deepest of breaths,

Felt quite weightless, and oh so free! (8)

Flew back to my dear old cabin,

Singing freedom ditties,

Wondering what next to do-

Lit up, ordered samosas and tea,

Soon fog engulfed me again,

I crept back into reverie. (14)
